My Clubhouse Experience — First 3 Days
The Clubhouse app is a new social media platform that has already taken off with a powerful force. It's purely audio based — you don't post photos or statuses, your bio space is much more expansive than the limitations of Instagram's, allowing you to introduce yourself better and let people know what you're about (I find Instagram is incredibly visual based, you judge an account/person purely on the recent images they've published), and it's a platform where content is not recorded; you have to be there now and be in that moment to absorb the information spoken by thought provoking leaders, celebrities, coaches, authors, and many more powerful, successful and inspirational beings (no screen recording allowed or you'll be suspended!).

It's like a live, interactive podcast, where you have the opportunity to speak directly to the people you look up to and are inspired by, especially at such early stages of the app where exclusivity is prominent. There are also topics on every niche for you to explore and follow, such as places around the world, faith/religion (I'm following Buddhism), relationships, economics, social issues, the future, advertising, sports, crypto, anime, space, biology, honestly everything.

I stayed up until 11:30pm last night listening to a room called "Millionaire Walk — Advice From Millionaires". I showered while I had my phone propped up next to the shampoo, listening to advice from Grant Cardone. This morning I did my makeup while listening to Shaman Durek and the princess of Norway speak on fear and alignment, how spirituality is loving yourself through all existences. I was in a CH room while driving to Brisbane this morning for a hair appointment. I just cannot. put. this. app. down.
Here's how Clubhouse works:
— Follow your favourite people. Authors, speakers, friends, podcast hosts, entrepreneurs, business owners, anybody you want direct insight from and the chance for you to speak with and learn from.
— Follow groups. These are like Facebook groups in a way, with members and usually scheduled 'events' for you to attend. I'm following "Instagram Marketing Secrets", "Divine Feminine Awakening", "Human Behaviour", "Financial Literacy", "How To Get Rich", "The Mindful Creative" and lots more. There's topics to follow on everything.
— You'll be notified when the people you are following are speaking in a room. You can listen in. Sometimes there's the opportunity to 'raise your hand', just as you can in Zoom, and you'll be selected to become a speaker and ask questions or provide value to the room.
— You can also be invited to speak in a room too, if you're in the audience. The moderator can select and invite people to talk.
— Host your own rooms. This isn't something I have personally explored yet, but when playing around with my friend, he started a room and I received an immediate notification that he was speaking and joined the room with him too.
— You can leave the app and keep listening. While I'm in a room, I like to explore the speakers/moderators profiles, check out the groups they're in, who they're following, and I've found some of the speakers have been doing the same with me and will follow the lead to my Instagram and follow me there too.

The thing about Clubhouse is that you have to be there, show up, or you miss it. As I mentioned, there is no recording of the conversations, no replays, no transcripts. If you miss one piece of information, it's gone. This creates an urgency to listen in and take in as much as you possibly can. It creates a sense of living in the moment, because if you tune out for even a few seconds, you might miss an important piece of advice, a life-changing book recommendation, a website or course name, and there is no way to 'go back', no chat function for you to ask other audience members, and usually no opportunity to directly ask the speaker to repeat themselves.
It's exciting to have no idea what room you're going to stumble into that day, what speaker you might be connected with, who's live words you will have directly from the audio in your phone. You're connected with humans all around the world (though I have noticed it's currently predominantly American), and you get to listen to casual conversations from your favourite people and see how human they are too.
It's an incredibly psychologically expansive experience for you to learn where these people came from, how they got to where they are, and receive direct advice on how to develop yourself too. It's powerful, insightful value for you to be given freely, just by showing up to the room.
Listening in to these conversations, you directly experience their success mentality and learn the key similarities to these millionaires, you get to interpret what the similarities are amongst them all and can then implement this advice, tools and tips into your own life. You’re living and breathing their advice, wisdom and personal experience, sitting in the same space as these people. You are listening to souls speak their truth, and as a collective I've found that everyone on this app wants to be of service, teach, be giving, generous and selfless, and inspire us all to succeed.
The opportunities to connect are limitless, and Clubhouse introduces a very strong funnel process to direct potential leads to your business. It's important to have a well established Instagram and/or Twitter account, with a clear bio that states who you are and what service you provide, then links to your site, podcast, book, course, YouTube channel etc (use Linktree). You will have both speakers and guests clicking on your profile, exploring who you are, and you want to be able to capture that lead. Give them a reason to connect. I'm suddenly very aware of the potential eyes I'm going to have on this website and am filled with driven energy to fine tune it and take these opportunities strongly on board.
Clubhouse is currently exclusive and still in beta stage, with the public release apparently happening in March 2021. It's also currently limited to iPhone only, and the only way to join is to be invited by an existing user. I was invited, and so I was then granted one invite for another to join. They'll then receive one invite too. I highly recommend downloading the app to reserve your username for when it is launched, just like we all should have done for TikTok when it started blowing up. If you have signed up to the app, you will show in existing Clubhouse members contact list if you have each others phone number, and it will be easier for them to invite you (you'll also be at the top of their list when they go to invite someone).

PS. Here's quick notes I took within 5 minutes in the room 'Millionaire Walk', just to give you a taste of what's available to experience: "What's one piece of advice that will help anyone get to where you are today?"
— Raise your prices, you’re probably undercharging
— Focus on building a personal brand (capitalise on Clubhouse while it’s new, it’s the perfect platform)
— Go hard the first 8 days on CH, participate, be in front of everyone
— People buy based on the results of what you’re selling — why would someone want to learn from you?
— The moment you hear an idea to the moment you implement it, you’ve got 24 hours to take action
— Find a mentor that can teach you and take you to the next level
— Do not compare your chapter 1 to someone’s chapter 12. Have a mentor too.
— Extreme focus. Uncompromising focus. Put your eyes in a tunnel and don’t break.
— Talk to someone about your business every single day and what your values are.
— Figure out one outcome you want to take your clients to, reverse engineer that and have laser sharp focus (no distractions). Focus, implement, have that one outcome in mind.
— Our perception of what other people’s perception is what drives us insane. Don’t worry about how they perceive it, it’s what stops so many people in this world.
— What got you here won’t take you to the next level, be willing to take risks.
— If you wait around for what you deserve, you’ll never get what you demand. Have ambition.
